Life may look a little bit different at Finastra right now. Siobhan Byron, SVP for TEMS, talks about how we continue to focus on three key areas: our people, our customers and our business.
Last week, a few of our graduate and early career employees gave a virtual careers talk to students from St. Marylebone school, as part of Westminster Enterprise week. Our speakers talked about their experiences of further education, joining Finastra, and what it’s like working here. The students found this talk very useful, and some were even keen to find out about work experience! #openfinance #lifeatfinastra #educationispower #heartplussmart
At the end of last month, our Paris office held their first "live-métier" with Myfuture & Moi dans 10 ans. One of our Product Managers, and a Product Analyst at Finastra gave wonderful presentations about their jobs to young people aged 14-18 years old during this virtual live session. The session allowed young people to discover different career pathways, to be inspired, and to ask questions of a professional in the industry. This week, we hosted our second session! #lifeatfinastra #openfinance #heartplussmart #onlineeducation #csrinitiative
Last week, we had our spookiest Hour of Code yet, with our Halloween Special Edition Hour of Code with St. Cornelius School today. Our HoCs are very important to Finastra, and lockdown hasn’t stopped us working with children to teach them the essential skill of coding! Thank you to everyone who dressed up and took part in this special event. #lifeatfinastra #openfinance #openculture #hourofcode
A big congratulations to our Finastra winners, who led their mixed teams from Trivandrum and London to victory, bringing home two awards at the Global Sibos 2020 Hackathon. Syed Ibrahim's team won the category “Transforming Customer Experience” with a team from Finastra, Deutsche Bank and Standard Chartered Bank. Philip Crisp’s team won in the category of “Fostering Financial Inclusion” with a mixed team of Finastra, Clearstream, and ClearBank® employees. Thank you both for your hard work and co-innovation #openfinance #lifeatFinastra #coinnovation #hackathon
Last week, we hosted two virtual Hour of Code sessions with the Year 6s from Manorside Primary School. We taught them about what we do here at Finastra, and a little bit about what Corporate Social Responsibility means, and what CSR programmes we have here at Finastra. We then used games, created by Code.org, to introduce the children to coding language and java script. This was our London office’s first time delivering a virtual hour of code to a school, and was a great success, being something we will be able to continue through lockdown. #openfinance #lifeatfinastra #hoc #hourofcode #virtualcsr
