Pros

Close to home so I didn't have to go all the way Downtown Branch managers were knowledgeable and easy to work with

Cons

Bonuses were stopped last year. To pay for the new Head Office, I guess. I had factored that into my decision to leave my last job and join Cole. My ex-coworkers say the good managers left a few months ago and haven't been replaced. No one seems to know what is going on. All decisions are made at the Head Office, who don't have a clue about how things work at 813 or anywhere else in BC.

I am sorry to see that your experience with us was not a positive one. The anonymity of this website does not allow me to look at your individual situation, but I can assure you that Cole has always paid the incentive plan/bonus (including last year) to all employees who qualified based on the criteria as laid out in the employee handbook. It is true that Cole took advantage of the weakest economy in a decade to purchase a building, instead of leasing at a much higher cost to the company. I can assure you the building was not bought at the expense of employees or employee programs. Corporate office, not unlike any other company, makes decisions on policy and human resource issues. Our managers are challenged with local decisions, and are encouraged to question process if something doesn't fit for their region. In a company of 500+ people it is natural to have some employees who feel disgruntled, but I thought it was important to correct the record. Cole International, although not perfect, is a group of incredibly hard working employees that deserve to be represented better than your post would indicate.

Pros

Benefits cover 100% drugs and dental

Cons

No vacation first year. Cheap salary. Extremely toxic work environment. Unprofessional supervisors creating negative work environment, managers that really look out for themselves and not their team.
