Pros

tips were good and long hours if you need them. some coworkers are nice however some shouldn't be working in the food industry

if i could i review nandos dixie as a 0. work environment was horrible. supervisors just sat in the back room while you would be working your butt off during a rush. everytime i would go back to bring plates they would be with other coworkers laughing and talking while only 1 or 2 people r on the floor struggling because of how many people were there. they never gave me breaks and i didn't have an end time and they would abuse that power and let their friends or favourites go home first and make me work 11 hours without one break. i worked almost every day or every other day and i barely got a break from working 5+ hours because they needed us for a rush even though all they do is sit in the office all day. it was illegal and unprofessional and their lucky i never took action against them on never giving me a break for a 11am -till mid night shift. they would say "oh your food for tonight is covered on us because i didn't get a break. like who wants to eat at 1am after your so tired from working like 12 hours. comp what a $2 discounted meal? unbelievable that these people think they know how to manage people with this type of attitude.

Pros

People really like Nando's so usually you're surrounding by guests who are also fans - it makes it easier to be proud of what you're serving There is a diversity in staff that makes things fun and interesting among coworkers Overall fun job if you like talking to people and feeling challenged

Cons

I'm sure this is like this at other restaurants but some customers are just waiting to get mad at you and management isn't empathetic either We would frequently run out of chicken or wings or be understaffed because decisions made by the shift supervisor at the time - this should never be the case, it is extremely upsetting to customers to hear we have run out of chicken at a chicken restaurant Not everyone pulls their weight and management reconciles this by slanting more hours towards aces, overworking them and their capabilities and "punishing" the underperfomers by sending them home - this is how you get bad employee turnover Long closes
