      Avoid Accounting Job Posting at Oppenheimer

      Pros

      Lots of lovely people who are willing to help. Company has been voted for best managed company for a reason. Enjoyed corporate culture and lots of events and activities

      Cons

      Accounting was filled with manipulative managers who back stabbed their own staff to make themselves look good. Do not care about your development and only care about their own job security. Avoid at all cost, unless you are desperate for a job.

      A Great place to work, grow and advance if you are white male.

      Cons

      Women and especially minorities need not apply, unless you enjoy sitting in the same position for 20years. Women and minorities are poorly paid Age discrimination – Demoting a supervisor who is close to retirement mafia style – By driving him around and talking to him till he agreed to his demotion the list goes on and on. Come to think of it he is also a minority. Bullying is cultural – Managers who tell employees they wish they fail. Upper management have spies who report back to them or make up stories about other employees in effort to stay favoured. So much office politics

      Not a place for minorities

      - some nice people - benefits are okay

      Cons

      - Place is full of clock watchers. Should you be late 1 minute or leave 1 minute early be prepared for a lecture from your supervisor and then you may even be fired even if your work quality is above par - Generally not a good place for minorities and work is not recognized no matter how hard you work. Not a very diverse group of people, and big-time pay inequity with women and minority groups getting paid lower and white, older men reaping the benefits of grunt workers
