We’ve been appointed as delivery partner by TESCanada H2 to provide front end engineering and design services for their Mauricie Project green hydrogen hub in Quebec. Use of this hydrogen aims to decrease Quebec’s greenhouse gas emissions by 800,000 tonnes, and help the province achieve its decarbonization objectives. It is one of the largest clean hydrogen projects in Canada. It’s also amongst the largest decarbonization projects announced in Quebec to date. We're proud to be involved as we continue to Engineer A Better Future for our planet and its people.

Our Canadian Nuclear business is opening a new office in Durham Region, to support a growing workforce and the expansion of nuclear power in Ontario. Joining us at today’s opening was Ontario’s Minister of Finance and local MPP Peter Bethlenfalvy, and officials from the City of Pickering. Located at 1340 Pickering Parkway in Pickering, Ontario, the new office will support AtkinsRéalis’ work, as the steward of CANDU® nuclear technology, supporting the 10 CANDU reactors producing 34% of Ontario’s power at Ontario Power Generation’s Pickering and Darlington nuclear generating stations, as well as on the Darlington SMR project tasked with bringing online North America’s first grid-scale SMR.
We have been awarded a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) comprehensive engineering services contract supporting Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) research and development of fusion energy – a clean, safe and virtually limitless energy source. This work underscores our expertise delivering innovative solutions for complex scientific projects and our commitment to Engineering A Better Future for our planet and its people.
AtkinsRéalis and Bird Construction, have entered into an alliance development agreement to work collaboratively with Metrolinx to deliver the East Harbour Transit Hub: a new interchange station that is part of a broader transit-oriented community plan for Toronto. AtkinsRéalis is partnered with Bird under the Rail Connect (RC) Partners joint venture. Under the alliance development agreement, services include optimizing the design solution, preparing detailed estimates for resources, costs and schedules, preparing a Project Proposal, finalizing the Project Alliance Agreement, and performing Early Works. The East Harbour Transit Hub will support local transit needs in the community and regional connectivity, through the incorporation of the GO Train, Ontario Line subway and future Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) light rail transit. Service levels planned as part of GO Expansion would see a GO train arriving as frequently as every five minutes.
We’re proud to unveil our inaugural ReconciliACTION Plan (RAP) in Canada. The RAP will guide AtkinsRéalis’ Indigenous Relations strategy in Canada going forward, across procurement, recruitment, employee education and experience, bidding, project delivery, partnerships and philanthropy, and more. A key part of the plan involves increasing the collaboration between AtkinsRéalis’ Engineering Services in Canada and Indigenous groups through limited partnerships and joint venture arrangements on projects, as well as maintaining involvement of Indigenous companies in AtkinsRéalis’ supply chain on projects across the country.
